During the selection process the admissions committee considers several factors:

Professional Criteria

  • Career track with significant professional achievement and increasing scope of responsibilities
  • The business acumen to actively contribute to the learning process
  • Opportunity to quickly apply learning to their organization
  • Corporate support

Academic Criteria

  • A four year undergraduate degree from an accredited institution
  • The ability to meet or exceed admission requirements to the University of Tennessee Graduate School
  • Graduate Management Admissions Test (GMAT) Scores. The applicant may be exempt from the GMAT requirement if he or she:
    • Already has a graduate degree, or
    • Has an excellent record of professional achievement and the undergraduate grade point average is 3.0 or higher.

Note: taking the GMAT is strongly recommended for applicants with less than 10 years of managerial experience. For information on GMAT tests, including schedules, visit www.gmac.com

  • Proficiency in spoken and written English. International applicants whose native language is not English must have taken the Test of English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL) within the last two years. For information on the TOEFL, including schedules, visit www.TOEFL.com.

“I have allowed myself to grow far beyond what I thought was capable. I received a transformational learning experience far above what any other executive program can offer. I believe that I have changed from a young, aggressive, do whatever it takes to make executive to a more mature, growing leader that has a broader perspective, stronger insight and better understanding of how to take organizations to another level.”
