The five distinguishing components of the program are as follows:
The Corporate Action Project (CAP)
The Corporate Action Project (CAP) is an in-depth project to further your organization’s goals. For this year-long project, you and your employer choose an issue of major importance to your organization. You work closely with a faculty advisor to research, structure and plan the project; then, you work with your corporate team to implement it. This thesis-like undertaking is graded independently of all other assignments in the program. It is not uncommon for your CAP project to make a significant impact on the revenue growth and/or cost reduction efforts at your organization — an impact that more than pays for your time and tuition.
Successful past projects have included:
- redesign of work processes
- market analysis for new services
- new products or new international markets
- organizational restructuring
- analysis of mergers and acquisitions
|
- cost-analyses
- new product development processes
- customer value analyses
- full-blown business plans, and
- human resource initiatives.

The Comprehensive Strategic Assessment (CSA)
The Comprehensive Strategic Assessment (CSA) is a series of assignments that culminate in a 360-degree assessment of your company. These assignments follow each residence period, applying the concepts and tools learned in that session. Topics can include a comprehensive financial analysis, an assessment of your organization’s competitive landscape, and a study of what your customers value. At the end of the program, your manager receives a report based on these assignments along with suggestions and strategic recommendations.
Emerging Markets
Emerging Markets and their prevailing business issues are the focus of a two-week international business seminar in May. The entire class travels abroad together to confront economic and infrastructure challenges, learn more about consumer markets and incomes, and see how the global economy is shaped by a wide variety of macroeconomic, microeconomic and cultural factors.
Individualized Executive Coaching
Individualized Executive Coaching not only develops your leadership skills and strategic perspective, it also aims to increase your ability to be successful as an individual. We assess everything from your analytical skills and decision-making judgment to your executive character and interpersonal skills. Working one-on-one with a personal coach, you will develop a plan that will lead you to enhanced leadership skills, improved balance in your life and physical wellness.
Excellence in Communications Coaching
Excellence in Communications Coaching refines your ability to express, present, persuade, negotiate and deliver messages with impact. During the course of the Executive MBA Program Curriculum, you will have numerous opportunities to make presentations and receive detailed feedback from faculty on the substance and delivery of your message. By the time you earn your MBA, we are sure you will see a great improvement in your presentation skill.
