University of Tennessee - Executive MBA Program Executive MBA

The innovative structure of our program allows you to spend more time at your office and home and less time on campus. The program combines the benefits of face-to-face classroom learning with convenient Internet-based learning.

Residence Periods

Four times during the year, you leave the demands of work and family behind for 14 days to concentrate exclusively on learning. During this time of “high compression learning,” you will take classes; meet with your faculty advisor, oral presentation coach and leadership coach; and work in teams with your peers to carry out the synthesis project that marks the end of each residence period.

Two-Weeks Abroad

In May or June, a two-week international business seminar is held abroad in two foreign emerging markets. We typically rotate our destinations annually between South America, Eastern Europe and the Pacific Rim.

Distance Learning

Our Internet-based distance learning allows you to attend class from work, home or while traveling. Executive MBA faculty conduct virtual classes and meetings via the Internet, and classroom groupware gives teams a chance to meet and collaborate when not on campus. Moreover, a website links enrolled students to detailed class schedules, project timelines, faculty and student bios, special event information and the powerful resources of The University of Tennessee library.
