Very few businesses today are immune from the ramifications of globalization; quite the contrary, most organizations today are at least affected by, if not intricately dependent upon, global markets. To produce leaders articulate in the challenges and rewards of conducting international business, The University of Tennessee’s Executive MBA Program pioneered one of the most extensive international business components available in executive education. In May, a two-week international business seminar is held abroad in two markets that are attracting significant foreign business investment. We typically rotate our destination annually between South America, Eastern Europe and the Pacific Rim. We study economic and infrastructure challenges, learn more about consumer markets and incomes, and see how the global economy is shaped by a wide variety of macroeconomic, microeconomic and cultural factors.
